Midnight Plumber is a standalone short film and proof-of-concept pilot for an episodic comedy series about a nocturnal plumber in NYC. While the stories may be fictional, the plumbing is completely real.
The series explores different late-night milieus and social scenes, and the unexpected situations and heroics that emerge when the plumber is invited into these spaces. It is also unabashedly concerned with demystifying plumbing for the viewer. Think High Maintenance but with a plumber, crossed with the feel of How To with John Wilson, crossed with a DIY plumbing tutorial on YouTube.
Each episode incorporates instructional elements and could be considered an absurd yet technically legitimate way to learn how to do these jobs yourself.

Zéré Turlykhanova is a Central Asian director, producer, and screenwriter. Born in Almaty and raised between Dubai, Lugano, and New York, she studied psychology at NYU, where patient-therapist case studies started to read like screenplays and sparked her interest in storytelling.
She began her career in market research, working closely with both major and independent studios to shape, sharpen, and position some of their most distinctive films. This experience now informs her work behind the camera.

Gabriel Rodriguez-Fuller is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose work spans narrative films, documentaries, and music videos. Working primarily outside conventional production structures, he has written and directed several independently produced short and feature-length films, frequently serving as cinematographer, editor, and sound designer. His collaborations with artists including Standing on the Corner, Medhane, and Medslaus have been featured by Pitchfork, The Fader, and Hypebeast. His documentary Looking at Pictures on a Screen: Thomas Nozkowski premiered at PACE Gallery and as part of The Brooklyn Rail’s online screening series.
