Carl Conway Maguire is a writer and director in NYC whose work has played at festivals including SeriesFest, Hollyshorts, Sidewalk Film Festival, and more. He started making films as a founding member of the indie filmmaking collective, Video Mass, through which he helped facilitate screenings in Brooklyn of over 100 short films.

Palace

Palace is a series of vignettes following a Roscoe Arbuckle-esque silent film star, who acts as both performer and audience in an empty palace theater.

Joseph Hurt is an independent filmmaker based in Kentucky. Drawn to faces, characters, and the connections that tie us all, he’s fascinated by people who are so enormously true that they can’t help but be anything but themselves.

Jacob Forman is a Louisville filmmaker who works primarily in the independent film and music video spaces. Collaborators and clients have included musicians such as Cooper Crain of Bitchin Bajas, Haley Fohr of Circuit Des Yeux, and Will Oldham AKA Bonnie “Prince” Billy.

Babesmilk

After a humiliating public outburst lands her in court-mandated community service, Sally Babesmilk becomes fixated on reclaiming the plaque honoring her legacy as Guam’s first female jet ski instructor. What follows is an increasingly absurd and theatrical attempt to restore her sense of greatness.

Babesmilk is a guerrilla comedy shot on location, featuring Chamorro and local performers from the islands of Guam, Samoa, Fiji, Saipan, and Chuuk.

Elisha Mlotek’s work has screened internationally at festivals including Palm Springs International ShortFest, Hawai‘i International Film Festival, Women Make Waves International Film Festival (Taiwan), New/Next Film Festival, and San Diego Asian Film Festival, where his co-written dramedy Myself When I Am Real won Best Narrative Short. The film was also nominated for Best U.S. Short Film at Palm Springs and Best Short Film at Hawai‘i. Elisha is an experimental comedy filmmaker and performer, as well as a gold-certified (RIAA) songwriter on JID’s “Dance Now.” He teaches film studies at the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Directors: Pat Rooks, Grant Jackson

Grant Jackson (Atlanta) and Pat Rooks (New York) are both cartoonists and filmmakers who met the summer of 2024. They soon found they had a lot in common and admired each others work, so they decided to try collaborating. Writing together came easily and soon after Eddie was born. Combining an unorthodox filming method with their looney tune's esque writing style led to something neither of them could have created on their own. Their collaborative efforts have only just begun, but they are proud to share their debut with the world.

As the Time Might be Now

On a feverish night, Dama da Noite crosses the city carrying a deck of cards that could change her fate. Between picturesque bars, collapsing apartments, and unlikely encounters, her path crosses with Onça, a young man adrift through the night. When dawn reaches the square, the two discover that even in a world on the brink of ending, it is still possible to choose — if only for a moment — not to be alone.

Noah Mancini (1996 – Juiz de Fora, MG, Brazil) holds an Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Design from UFJF, an MBA in Communication and Marketing from Descomplica, and a Master’s degree in Cinema and Video Arts from UNESPAR (Fundação Araucária Fellow). Their work moves across text, body, and image.

Zuma Link is an artist working across audiovisual, dance, and performance. She has worked as a cinematographer on short and feature films, both fiction and documentary, as well as music videos and videodance works. In 2021, she was selected for the Berlinale Talents Camera Studio. Since 2019, she has been one of the creative directors and executive producers of EdiyPorn, a collective focused on dissident pornography.
